Soooo my friends and I were having a very serious discussion and we think the song you played at Day of Silence (Dying Day?) should completely be put on youtube or something of the like :)

Hey! Yeah, this site looks amazing. A friend and I came out to the garage sale. I scored like the first playstation ever, a George Foreman, and a few books. Also, I'm really glad I got your CD. Keep me plugged in as to what you guys are up to!

Party was great. We really had a good time. Sorry you all missed it. I was pulling to the Cardinals. Since my Bears weren't in it I went with the Cards for two reasons. One -- The Cardinals are the NFC team. Two -- Before the Cardinals were in St Louis they were in Chicago. (That's your sports trivia for the day)

Hi Lorna; are you playing anywhere in the next two weeks. A friend and I would like to drive up from the Sarasota gay wasteland and hear you. Also could you recommend a place to eat nearby, not expensive...OK, maybe a little cheap. Hoping to hear from you richard paul

Lorna, I was proud to be part of the Crist wedding party. You did a great job but alas there could have been more of us. I hope it wasn't the fact that it was too close to happy hour at the Alibi et al to get more of us to join in. I made it over from West Palm and brought two of my Tampa friends. The three of us also noticied the lack of coordination with other LGBT groups who seemed to know nothing of the event. I know this was put together quickly. I almost missed it entirely. Impact certainly has had an impact on me. Thanks. John

A love song for my anniversary and the California Supreme Court ’s “Day of Decision”

On the morning of November 5th, 2008, the day after the historic election of Barack Obama as President of the United States, I was performing in a highschool in Palatka, Florida. The students, approximately 1/3 of whom in this particular district were African American, were palpably stoked. Many of them wore bootleg Obama t-shirts featuring images not just of the President Elect, but of his whole beautiful family. I started out my program by asking, “Does anyone know who won yesterday’s presiden… Continue

You really ought to give Iowa a try!

I just posted this on Creative Loafing's music blog. I thought you folks might appreciate it, especially if you're recovering musical theatre junkies like I am...

Why has the St. Petersburg Times refused to cover the trial of Ryan Skipper's murderer?

Here's an email I just sent to the Editor and President of the St. Petersburg Times, Paul Tash. I also submitted it as a letter to editor:

Mr. Tash,

I am a native of Pinellas County, a resident of St. Petersburg and a
longtime reader of the St. Petersburg Times. In fact, my father worked for
the Times in the advertising department for 19 years. I am also the
director of ImpACT-Florida, a marriage equality organization based out of
St. Petersburg.

I am writing to express my surprise at and see… Continue

Email the Hillsborough County Commission now! Don't let the whack jobs who hate us outnumber us!

If you haven't sent an email or called the Hillsborough County Commission yet, please do! All the info. you need to do this is posted under the event with the "Urgent" picture. According to the St. Pete Times this morning the wing nuts behind Amendment 2 are outnumbering us:

"Commissioners have received dozens of e-mails in opposition, many emphasizing the cost, particularly in a down economy. Others mentioned the November passage o… Continue

How to let the Hillsborough County Commission know that you support domestic partner benefits

On 1/16, the Tampa Trib reported that Kevin Beckner, Hillsborough County's first
openly gay commissioner, requested the issue of giving health care benefits to
domestic partners of county employees be discussed at the regularly scheduled
commission meeting this Wednesday.

In response, the Community Issues Council, a religiously motivated anti-gay
organization, sent out this alert:

"Almost before sitting in his new furniture Commissioner Beckner is trying to
undermine the conservative values th… Continue
