Tampa Bay's 10 New Story On Cuban Club Hosting Buju Banton Concert Tonight 11 PM,and Possible Protest Tomorrow Night
Hello My Friends
First, I want to thank all who called or emailed the Cuban Club Tampa demanding they cancel Homophobe Murder Music Singer Buju Banton's concert. I spoke with Jocelyn, box office, several times today, she said the phones and emails have been flooding in all day. That each call and email will be brought to the attention of Mr. Robert Valdez, Sr and Mr. Jose Berenguer. I also received a call back from Mr. Valdez this morning, and felt our conversation was very productive on educating him to Buju's homophobic murderous lyrics directed at the gay men. As with most who own the venues where Buju's promoters books his concerts, he was not aware of this. He said he would bring this to the attention of the Cuban Club Tampa's board on our behalf. I'm hopeful that they will conclude that canceling Buju's concert is the right course of action they should take. In the event that they do not decide to cancel the concert due to contractual or liability concerns. We must be prepared to hold a protest action outside the Cuban Club Tampa, Ybor City, 2010 N Avenue Republica De Cba, Tampa, FL 33605-3653. I will follow-up first thing tomorrow morning and alert you to any information I receive and if a protest is being organized.

He interviewed several members of our community, Mark Bliss, Carrie West, Stephen Loss, Gaybor Business Coalition, and myself. Again with hope, this news story will help persuade the powers that be at the Cuban Club to do the right thing and cancel Buju's concert.
